Global Wind Organisation Training

The GWO Manual Handling (MH) Initial module equips wind turbine technicians and operational personnel with essential ergonomic knowledge, behavioural safety awareness, and kinetic handling techniques to prevent musculoskeletal injuries. Delivered under the revised GWO BST V20 Standard as a dedicated half-day course, this standalone module combines dynamic risk assessment using the TILE principle with realistic turbine handling scenarios, posture control, and tool vibration management.

The GWO Working at Height (WAH) Initial course provides wind industry personnel with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to work safely at height and perform emergency rescues in wind turbine generator (WTG) environments. Delivered under the revised GWO BST V20 Standard as a dedicated 2-day standalone module, this course combines comprehensive Personal Fall Protective Equipment (PFPE) inspection and fitting with realistic vertical climbing, work positioning, and casualty rescue drills.

Ready to power up your career in the thriving wind energy sector? Southwest Maritime Academy (SWMA) delivers the GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) package you need to succeed.

This comprehensive GWO First Aid course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to recognise life-threatening situations and administer crucial first aid in the demanding WTG environment.

This BST Fire Awareness Module is vital for anyone working in the wind turbine industry, providing the knowledge and skills to minimise fire risks and respond effectively in emergency situations.

This module delivers vital theoretical and practical training, empowering participants to act safely and responsibly during all aspects of offshore operations.

This comprehensive GWO BST Refresher course provides essential theoretical and practical training to refresh and enhance your existing first aid skills.

This GWO Fire Awareness Refresher course ensures your skills and knowledge remain up-to-date, equipping you to prevent, assess, and combat fires effectively.

This course mirrors the content, duration, and learning objectives of the initial BST Sea Survival training, focusing on refreshing your skills and knowledge to act safely and responsibly in all aspects of offshore operations.

Ready to renew your skills in the thriving wind energy sector? Southwest Maritime Academy delivers the GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (GWO BSTR) package you need to succeed.

The GWO Working at Height Refresher (WAHR) course reviews and builds on previously gained skills to ensure experienced wind technicians maintain high levels of vertical safety and emergency rescue readiness. Delivered under the revised GWO BST V20 Standard as an intensive 1-day standalone module, this course combines dedicated Skill Stations with realistic, scenario-based emergency simulations in wind turbine generator (WTG) environments.

The GWO Manual Handling Refresher (MHR) course reviews and builds upon delegates' previous knowledge, refreshing essential lifting techniques and behavioural safety principles in wind turbine generator (WTG) environments. Delivered under the revised GWO BST V20 Standard as a dedicated half-day course, this standalone refresher uses practical Skill Stations and realistic industry scenarios to help wind technicians identify risks, correct negative habits, and prevent musculoskeletal injuries.
