Proficiency in Security Awareness

The course provides necessary knowledge for personnel intending to work on ships who will not have any designated security duties but who all the same require a heightened awareness of general security issues and practices.

Description

This course is for all seafarers who work on vessels that comply with the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code. It provides a general but heightened awareness of maritime security issues and practices for personnel who do not have specific security duties. This training ensures that every crew member understands their role in maintaining a secure environment on board.

What You'll Learn

Upon completion of this module, you'll be able to contribute to the overall security of the vessel. The course focuses on three key areas:

  • Security Awareness: You'll understand the importance of maintaining a vigilant and security-conscious mindset.

  • Threat Recognition: You'll learn how to recognize potential security threats and understand the proper procedures for reporting them.

  • Security Practices: You'll gain a fundamental understanding of the methods used to maintain security and vigilance on a ship.
